Low Maintenance Work Outfits for the Time-Poor Busy Days

Professional Fashionable Outfits in a Hurry

Work wardrobes need to be fuss-free. Our attention should be focused on important prioritised tasks. Clothes must be stylish and practical enough, to get through a real day of working in the office or home.

Structured Dress

A quality structured dress will become a workwear staple if it’s made in a versatile print or block colour. Choose a pencil dress or a-line dress depending on what feels best for your shape.

Read the tag on the garment for care instructions. An ideal everyday professional dress should be at least suitable for hand-washing. Some beautiful dresses can only be dry-cleaned. They look great but maintenance creates more effort. Care instructions might even be listed on the store’s web site, which makes life even easier.

Machine Washable Suit Pants

A woman’s pantsuit can be a powerful style. Choose pants that can go in the washing machine. I found some great wide-leg pants in a textured grey, but they require hand-washing. That’s just too much maintenance for a basic staple. Experiment with blacks, greys and whites.

Soft White Shirt

Shirts are everywhere in the fashion weeks and chain stores right now. These are tricky for me because I prefer to wear very feminine looks. I have one bit of advice for those who want to feel pretty when wearing a collared top. Add a big dramatic statement necklace over a plain shirt. Those two pieces together will instantly say, “I’m a woman and I mean business.”

Timeless Classics

Any piece in a work wardrobe should be a timeless classic. Select clothes that feel comfortable, practical, versatile and stunning.
